School Days is a bit of a silly theme for August, because if there is one month when kids are likely not to be spending days in school, it is August. We have never claimed to be logical here on Sepia Saturday, so why start now. So look out your old photos that illustrate the general theme (school days), the weekly theme image (school rooms, flags etc), or no theme at all. All we want is an old photo and some new thoughts. Post your post on or around Saturday 5th August 2023 and add a link to the list below. And once you've done that you can make a start on your homework and plan for the next three weeks of school days.

July is Old Car Month here on Sepia Saturday and as always the choice is entirely yours. You can (1) Follow the general theme of old cars; (2) Identify an element in this week's theme image to follow; or (3) Completely ignore all these silly themes and just share an old photograph of your choice. Whatever you do, do it on or around Saturday 15th July 2023 and add a link to the list below. Here are the next two July theme images - the August general theme will be revealed soon.

Sepia Saturday 680 : 8 July 2023

 

I'm getting to the stage where I am beginning to run out of weekly themes, so I have decided to make a small change to how we do Sepia Saturday. In future there will be a monthly general theme - the one for July is "Old Cars" - but there will continue to be weekly calls published, each with their own unique image which will be in keeping with the overall theme. As always, you will have the choice of either following the theme or going off in whatever direction you choose. The only essential is that, somewhere along the line, you are sharing an old photograph. For Sepia Saturday 680, post your post on or around Saturday 8th July 2023 and add a link to the list below. Over the next day or so I will add the rest of the July call images and let you know what the general theme for the next few months will be, which should help with planning. Sepia Saturday 679 : Saturday 1st July 2023

 

I'm about to jump in the car and go away on holiday (well, I'm about to jump on a plane and go on holiday but why let reality get in the way of a good link). That means that the Sepia Saturday calls are falling thick and fast and you might need to navigate your way through them to find the correct one to post your link to. Think of it as driving a car and navigating through precarious traffic. Which is a bit of a coincidence because this week (and this week is the 1st July, keep up) features a car parked outside a house. This might take you back to the days when getting a car was such a big event in life that you would instantly drop your kids, your pet dog and your Great Aunt Sophie and rush outside with your camera and take a picture of the car. Whatever you want to park next to this theme image, park it on or around Saturday 1st July 2023 and add a link to the list below.

I'm trying to get ahead of myself as I am about to depart on holiday, so you will have to excuse me if these calls seem to be coming thick and fast on top of each other. Hopefully you will be able to sort out which call is for which week, but if not, don't worry - it all adds to the fun of Sepia Saturday.
