Sepia Saturday 518 : Saturday 2 May 2020

There can never be a moment more timely and appropriate to feature health care workers on our Sepia Saturday prompt image than now. We owe so much to doctors, nurses and care workers at the moment, but we always have had: it is just that it takes a serious emergency for us to remember it. This week, on Sepia Saturday I am asking you to feature your tributes to all of those who are keeping us safe at the moment by featuring your old photographs of carers of all types and all times. Just post your post on or around Saturday 2 May 2020 and add a link to the list below.

You can interpret this image in whichever way you want; all you have to do is to choose an old image, include it in a post, post your post on or around Saturday 25 April 2020, and add a link to the list below.

Sepia Saturday 516 : 18th April 2020

Here we are, another Saturday, still in lockdown, and another Sepia Saturday prompt full of people. There are dozens of them on this old photograph from my own collection. I don't know who they are or where they are, but they are all saying - step up and take part in this week's Sepia Saturday challenge. To do so, just post an old photograph - either on theme or off theme - on or around Saturday 18th April 2020 and add a link to the list below. And whilst we are all gathered together like this, why not take a look at what is coming up on Sepia Saturday in the next couple of weeks.

Sepia Saturday 515 : 11 April 2020

Let's jump in the car, all of us together. Let the top down and we will get a bit of fresh air. We'll go to the shop and meet all our friends. Crowd together and have our photograph taken.

Who would have thought that Sepia Saturday would not just be celebrating old images, but also old habits! We may not be able to do all the things we took for granted only a couple of months ago, but we can still dig our way through our old photographs and share them with our friends. This week, our Sepia Saturday theme image shows a happy group outside a shop. The number of potential themes you could find in this photograph is as extensive as the supply of goods crammed into the car. Pick out just one and match it with one of your own old photographs on or around Saturday 11 April 2020 and then add a link to the list below.

Here are the next couple of theme images. Take a look at them, sort through your collections and - most important of all - stay safe.

Sepia Saturday 514 : 4 April 2020

A young woman, serious looking, reading a book. She looks straight at the camera as though she is sending us a message about her life and times down the centuries. Change the hairstyle and the heavy Victorian clothes, throw out the carved chair and rich velvet tablecloth, and it might be any young woman today: sat reading, sending future generations a message about the times we are living through. Wherever you may be, the chances are that you are denied the pleasure of company, friends, going out, sharing good times. At times like this, all we can do is to try to stay safe, and occupy our minds as best we can. If that includes digging through your old photographs and sharing them, feel free to join on with Sepia Saturday. If you want a theme, find one in the weekly theme image: but you don't need to follow a theme to take part. Just an old photographs and a few new thoughts. Post your post on or around Saturday 4th April 2020 and add a link to the list below. And if you like themes, here is a preview of the next two theme images.
