Sepia Saturday 433 : Saturday 25 August 2018

Sepia Saturday 433 : 25th August 2018
William Robyn, Singer (Bain News Service c.1920)
MUSIC  :  SINGERS  :  GRAMOPHONE  :  RECORDS

Our theme this week will be music to the ears of some of our regulars. For the record, I am still on the high seas, but in my absence you can sing the praises of one of your old photographs which may - or may not - be related to our theme image this week. All you need to do is to post your post on or around Saturday 25th August 2018, and add a link to the list below.

Here is a quick look at what awaits us in the first part of September. More details when I get back.

Parachute Jumper (Bain News Service, 1915-20)
DANGER  :  JUMPING  :  SKY  :  FLYING

I will be up, up and away by the time this Sepia Saturday comes around - but hopefully not in a hot air balloon, nor am I planning to take a parachute jump into the unknown. You can, however, jump right into this week's Sepia Saturday by posting an old photograph (either on-theme or off-theme) on or around Saturday 18th August 2018 and adding a link to the list below.

And here is a taste of what is to come on Sepia Saturday - and, take note, a change in emphasis lies just around the corner.

Sepia Saturday 431 : 11 August 2018

Lights, camera, action ... It is time for Sepia Saturday 431. This is a very easy theme, because if you don't have an old photo featuring a camera in your collection, you will certainly have an old photo taken by a camera! Share the photo on or around Saturday 11th August 2018 and add a link to the list below. What could be easier? It's so easy you can spend your time looking at what is around the Sepia corner.

Sepia Saturday 430 : 4th August 2018

Sepia Saturday 430 : 4th August 2018
Reclining Man And New York Subway Station (A B Phelen, 1910)
ILLUSIONS  :  TRICK PHOTOS  :  BIG AND SMALL

You know what it is like - sometimes you just wake up in the morning and everything seems wrong: out of proportion, upside down or back to front! For well over 100 years photographers have been mimicking this feeling by using the tricks of the camera and the darkroom. Now is your opportunity to share such photographs from your collection. If you don't have any, just choose something that illustrates big and small, light and dark or any kind of contrasts. And if all else fails, just share an old photograph. All you need to do is to share it on or around Saturday 4th August 2018 and add a link to the list below.

Here is what lies around the Sepia Corner
