No bicycle in my post, but two other means of transportation back in 1915: A passenger steamboat on Lake Geneva, and a 'funicular' (cable railway) in Lausanne.
The image of a woman c.1900, standing proudly beside her bicycle prompted me to look at the role of "Wheel Women", as one journalist called them - and the disappointing they often evoked.
