Good to be back after an unanticipated blogging break. My post features a photo with two subjects: My maternal grandfather Tony and his younger brother Joe in period sailor outfits, taken circa 1909

The donkey in the prompt photo led my thoughts to a photo of my great-aunt Gerda sitting on a donkey in front of an Egyptian pyramid... A photo that long had me puzzled; but a postcard from Cairo in 1932, combined with a bit of googling, may cast some light on it.

I have to prepare my Sat. post by around Wed. each week, so then I can be lazy, er, so I can concentrate on other things - oh, you know. But I've been "liking" over on FB, many sepia photos from historical sites...and these had already collected this week...so I shared them with you!

An ideal prompt for me with matches from family and local history.

I've missed a couple of weeks again - had to work on site and learn how to navigate updates, then it didn't accept comments. Hope it works today! I didn't think I'd match the prompt photo, but in the end, I did.

I've skipped the theme this weekend to tell a long story that I hope entertains. Musical of course. But hang on 'til the end and I added a treat for the Sepia Saturday club.
