Sepia Saturday 443 : 3 November 2018

Photographs can tell us so much. They can speak volumes about style, manners, and social conditions. They can also let us know that the young woman featured in this week's Sepia Saturday theme image can't be a very good piano player. She looks happy enough, but just look at the bear - have you ever seen such a miserable looking stuffed ursidae? As a Sepia Saturday prompt, the picture is capable of as many interpretations as a theme by Paganini. There is music of course, smiling faces, sad faces, bears and spotted blouses. The choice is yours. Simply post your post on or around Saturday 3 November and add a link to the list below.

And whilst you are whistling along to the tune of the Teddy Bears Picnic, you might want to think about what is waiting around the Sepia corner. Here are our next two theme images.

Surprisingly vintage photos of pianists, male or female, are rare. But I do have one that makes a good match and allows me to introduce a type of music hall entertainer. As for teddy bears, musical or otherwise, I got nothing.

Continuing my series on Miss George, my fourth grade teacher -- who may have played the piano as a young woman, but alas I have no photo!
