Sepia Saturday 667 : 8th April 2023

Dance with me, I want my arms around you, the charms about you, will carry me through to ..... Sepia Saturday 667 (post your posts on or around Saturday 8th April 2023). Do want you want with this theme - there is nothing strictly about it - you can have old time classic, modern sequence or freestyle: the choice is yours. And if you decide to sit this dance out, you can always look at what is to come on Sepia Saturday.

I just realized the article about a dance was titled "Glimpses...." I could have used it for my "G" A to Z post. Why did I just notice that this morning after I already posted one on Gardening? Oh well. Anyway, this post is about the more information I found about a photo in my grandmother's scrapbook, including what my mother wore and the weather on the night of the dance, plus more photos of the dance.

Though I don't have a lot of photos of dancers, I do have a photo of another dancing musician that I recently acquired.

A shorter post from me this week, as I am so taken up with the manic A-Z April Blogging Challenge. No high kicking girls here but a nostalgic look back at how my parents met on the dance floor - and my father's account of the occasion.

None in my family (that I know of) have been great dancers, so I'm just continuing my series of letters from Sally to Gustaf in the year before their wedding. This time, Sally is apologizing for not being home when he called unexpectedly. Certainly wasn't all easy to make plans back in those days, relying on letters for communication...

Nightingale, I’m not sure why, but I can’t reply on your blog. I do love your folk dancing costume.
