Sepia Saturday 620 : 7 May 2022

Our Sepia Saturday theme this week celebrates those unknown faces in our family archives. Every photo collection - be it in a shoebox or a gallery - will have those lost faces without a name, stories and memories in search of a title. This week it is your chance to get these unknowns out from the hidden depths of your albums, and share them with the world. Do so on or around Saturday 7th May 2022 by linking your post to the list below.

In 1932, my great-aunt Gerda visited Cairo. Before and after that, she also spent time in Paris. In a photo from the pyramids, she's surrounded by some unknown faces, who are likely to remain anonymous.

It pays to be patient in family history research - ten years to identify the unknown faces on my family photography and discover I had American ancestors.

Some new to me distant relatives...my great aunt's husband's family. There were some who took photos, and many who didn't! One a Texas Senator, maybe.

This was an easy theme. I offer four pics of musical soldiers.

I'm going with the "unknown" -- specifically, my grandparents' bold move after the 1950 US census.
