What happens to ships deep in the ocean and closer to shore during an earthquake and resulting tsunami?

Just some old means of transportation, including the family car and at least one ship...but many covered wagons!

Themes with a ship are usually easy to match from my postcard collection. My contribution this weekend is naval and musical too.
