Sepia Saturday 482 : Saturday 10th August 2019

Three powerful women. Women who changed the world, women who made society sit up and take notice. The three women featured in this early twentieth century image were leaders of the movement for female emancipation. This week on Sepia Saturday is your opportunity to feature the strong, powerful principled women in your family photographic collections. as with all our Sepia Saturday themes, you can follow any other element of the prompt image you care to choose - who just ignore the prompt and post an image of your choice. Post it on or around Saturday 10th August 2019 and then add a link to the list below.

And whilst you are rekindling your special powers, why not take a look at what is around the corner on Sepia Saturday.

Sepia Saturday 481 : 3 August 2019

Danger! It might be standing on a cliff top, swimming in a swollen river, playing Russian Roulette with a pitchfork .... or leaning on a saw blade! We all have photographs in our collection like this. If you haven't, just find something in the theme image to match - and match it. Whatever you see (whatever you saw), include an old photograph in a post, post your post on or around Saturday 3rd August 2019, and then add a link to the list below.

Whilst you are relaxing on the teeth of a circular saw, take a look at the next couple of Sepia Saturday theme images.

Sepia Saturday 480 : 27 July 2019

Sorry about the late posting of this call, but it really is hot over here in Britain. Yesterday we had the hottest day on record and when your Sepia Administrator should have been putting up the call post, he headed for the beach instead. Here is a photograph - I will leave it to you to work out which is the administrator. All you need to do is to find an old photo something like the theme image and post it on or around Saturday 27th July 2019, and then add a link to the list below.

Hot as it has been, I have still managed to pull together a full set of theme images for August. Here they are:-

Sepia Saturday 479, 20th July 2019

Now here's a thought. What is going on in this photograph? Why is there a double bass leaning against the side of a tent? Why is there someone kissing a girl? What is on the mind of the chap in the striped jumper? Perhaps the most troubling thought of all is, how can it be that a photograph from the 1980s is now history! Whatever thoughts come into your mind when you view this week's Sepia Saturday prompt, link them to one of your old photographs, include it in a post, and post your post on or around Saturday 20th July 2019 and add a link to the list below.

And if you have time for a second thought, take a look at next week's Sepia Saturday prompt.

Sepia Saturday 478 : Saturday 13th July 2019

I could never be a musician. I would be due to play in a little classical string trio, expected to sound my first crotchet or whatever they are called - and I would be late. The other players would be standing around, rosining up their bows, and I would be down the street, catching up on doing something I should have done three days earlier. Like putting up the Sepia Saturday prompt image! Once again, apologies for being late, hopefully it will not leave you out of tune. Whatever tune you choose to play, play it with an old photograph on or around Saturday 13th July 2019 and then add a link to the list below.

Whilst you are waiting for the other players to start, take a look at what awaits you in Sepia Saturday in the future.

Sepia Saturday 477 : 6 July 2019

This week we have a line of rather nice cars, gathered together in not very nice circumstances. The cars were seized in 1942 by the Canadian Government and were originally the property of Canadian citizens of Japanese origins. For our purposes, they are cars, a line, a road, a telegraph pole, a wet Thursday afternoon - or whatever visual clue you can find in this archive photograph to form the basis of your Sepia Saturday 477 post. When you have identified a potential theme, and posted your post, add a link to the list below. And whilst you are waiting for the motorcade to set off, take a look at the next couple of Sepia Saturday theme images.

Sepia Saturday 476 : 29th June 2019

Gone fishing, instead of just a-wishing. What better way to spend a sunny afternoon than doing a spot of fishing. And where better to do it than at the Old Weir in Killarney, Ireland? When you are fishing through your old photographs, keep an eye open for fish, chips, boats, nets, rivers, rods and people sitting on stone walls. Whichever old photograph you find, feature it in a post, and then post your post on or around Saturday 29th June 2019, and add a link to the list below.

Whilst you are waiting for a bite, take a look at what is around the next bend of the river.
