Sepia Saturday 118 : Going Out

When I asked for theme suggestions a few weeks ago LIZ STRATTON of ATTICS AND OLD LACE came up with a number, including "ladies night out" and "guys hanging out". I decided to combine the two and come up with a theme which is a celebration of the day out, the night out, and the day trip - GOING OUT. My archive photograph comes from the Flickr Commons collection of the State Library of Queensland and was taken by the Australian photographer George Jackman. Whilst the photograph is undated, Jackman was active in the 1930s and 1940s and this would seem to be about the right time.

As usual, you can either follow the theme in its widest interpretation or you can ignore it : it's up to you. All you have to do is to post a post on or around Saturday 24 March 2012 and link it to the list below. Try and visit as many of the other participants as possible - and after all of that, you can go out for the day.

Hi Everybody ... this was a fun one! My first one is on theme, and my second one is kinda neat, involving covered wagons traveling on highways from Independence MO to Independence OR.

Both are easy readers and short. I can't wait to see what you guys do this week.

For once, I've managed a SS before Saturday! Would you like to come out to dinner with my grandparents? Black tie, please :-)

Such a fun topic! My grand aunts knew how to dress to go out.

This was a fun one -- and I got it done early!

Another fine choice that allows me to put two and two together times two.

This is a fun theme! Had a great time looking for photos. Look forward to seeing what everyone's sharing this week.

Great them. These ladies are ready to go out, but where are the men?

Finally I am back...and having a time of it with Blogger...this caused real memories...which to choose. My past beckoned.

I adore the classy way your two ladies are dressed! I am on my way out to see a new movie everyone is talking about here in the USA "The Hunger Games". I will be by in the morning to comment and visit all the others who have participated. Thanks for hosting and I loved this topic.

My post is going out to simply take a walk.

I've just noticed that the woman on the left has what looks like a race tag through her buttonhole, it seems one of the photos I have used was, by accident, even more in sync than I though.

Christine I had a fine time finding a group of women without the men in my hometown history book. But I got something. This was fun. Great theme Alan.

This sort of theme really works with my blog (beards... not so much. Although I wonder if I could find a picture of a bearded lady??) I hope you like the selection!

I manage to merge my Sepia Saturday post with my series of Thornton posts by a bit of Yorkshire ingenuity.

Tricky theme this week, but I think I've just about managed.

Amazing Saturday morning and I'm totally at the end of the posts! But I'm in this week, and the theme kind of worked a bit of sweet bonding magic for me. Hope your weekend is wonderful and cheers from kind of an England morning fog still hanging over head here!

Oops, my second post on here is the correct Sepia Saturday, not sure how the first one didn't use my link for Sepia Saturday! Everyone enjoy your weekend!
