Sepia Saturday 168 : 16 March 2013

Our theme image this week was suggested by John Newmark of the Blog TransylvanianDutch and it was taken on the 17th July 1945 at the Potsdam Conference which brought together the leaders of the USA, Britain and the Soviet Union following the end of the War in Europe. The photograph comes from the Truman Library Archives and if you search carefully enough you might find President Truman, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin. Now it is not my job to point you in the direction of potential themes, but there is all sorts going on here : meetings, round tables, famous events, famous people, photographers, flags, not to mention one or two bald heads. All you have to do is to decide which theme you want to follow (or you can abandon themes all together if you want), post your post on or around Saturday 16 March 2013, add a link to the list below, and join in the Sepia Saturday fun.

And here is your look ahead at the next two theme images :

169 : Nominated by Sepian Postcardy, here is a picture of lots of people taking photographs of cherry blossom in Washington. There are all sorts of possibilities here : blossom, monuments, photographers being photographed.

170 : Time for a coffee? This particular coffee lounge was a famous meeting place for Australian writers and artists. So that gives you coffee, art, writing, and men leaning against doors as possible directions, not to mention all the adverts in the shop windows.

But the meeting is being brought to order and it is time to return to the conference and Sepia Saturday 168. If you want to raise an issue in the plenary session, there is no need to raise your hand - just add a link to the list below.

I am so early this week I could almost be very late for last week. Either way, I'm here, I'm not on theme ... but hope you'll all like my submission nevertheless.

I couldn't supply any photos of VIPs, conferences or round tables, but the topic was most appropriate for an image that's been waiting a long time for the right moment.

At first I didn't think I had anything and then I remembered my geography, so I am most definitely on theme. A musical multimedia story from Prussia.

No world leaders for me - just ordinary folks gathered at a picnic table.
