I don't normally do requests : but reading Christine H's
comment on last weeks' post, how could I resist. "I have a bust week, so
I'm not participating this time, but hope to be back next week, especially if
the theme is kidneys, World War II, cooks, or strange outfits", she wrote.
Well, there may be kidneys cooking in that tin hat although I accept that it is
the wrong war : but it is the best I can do. So for most themers they can take
their choice from war, cooking, chairs, or fires. For non-themers they can post
whatever old image they want. And from Christine we expect nothing less than a
perfect match. All you need do is cook up your post and serve it on or about
Saturday 16th October 2011. Bon appetit!
SEPIA SATURDAY is a weekly meme which encourages bloggers to publish and share old images and photographs. All that is required is for contributors to post an old image (it doesn't have to be in sepia) and provide a few words in explanation. If you could provide a link back to the Sepia Saturday Blog and visit as many of the other contributors as you can, it would also be appreciated. There is no weekly theme, as such, but some people like to use the archive image published with the weekly call as a kind of theme. There is no requirement to adopt such an approach : the choice of image is entirely up to you. hmmm, don't know if i have anyone cooking, soldiering or open fires but I'll be there.
I have KP duty and the right war.
My apologies to everyone. We are away for a long weekend so I will not be posting this week. If I can get a wifi signal I will try and get around all the posts - one way or another, I will be back next week.

I tried to stick to the theme this week, don't know if I have the right war though.
Great photo, but alas I have nothing which seems to be even close to those themes, so rather than attempt another tenuous link this week, I am staying deliberately off-theme.

After a short blogging break I’m back , and not struggling to theme this week.
As close as I could get, but I'm still off by 20 +/- years and likely on the other side of the world.

I'm way off-topic again this week...
Well, you inspired me to do a great post on my Great-Uncle John serving in WWII and the "War Letters" (an album about Uncle John and his two cousins corresponding to their family and to each other throughout the war.) Sorry that it won't be this week though. I'm going to have to opt out. I hurt my neck moving furniture and my shoulder is killing me. I want to do a good job on this post, which involves a lot of scanning and time, an I'll do it as soon as I can. Thanks so much for the idea though! I'll be visiting you guys over the weekend; but I won't have my own post this time.

My post almost connects to WWI though maybe a year or two late. I too am away from home so I'll be visiting all of you in a few days' time, all being well.
Well your photo gave us plenty to work with. I even considered muddy boots but ended up with chairs. Enjoy your holiday.

Just a photo this week, no real time to write much.
Sounds like we are all in the same boat this week with busy schedules. Rather than miss out completely, I've posted off-theme this week. I suppose I could claim a tenuous connection - it is a mill - they made food. :)

I'm late and in the gap between the wars, but the haircuts are similar.
Over per Pay It Forward recommendation. Love these old photos. I wish my family had some of these. There are some around but I don't know who has them these days.
