Sepia Saturday 692 : Saturday 30 September 2023

The last of our "On The Streets" prompts and were better to finish than on the dark, rain-swept streets of Halifax 55 years ago. Of course you can go to any dark rain-swept streets you like, or any bright sunny streets, or any streets, or no streets. Simply post an old photo and add a few new comments on or around Saturday 30 September 2023 and add a link to the list below.

And then get yourself off the street and start looking for some October portraits. Here is a preview of the prompts:-

My post is (roughly) about references to the streets back home -- in Otter Lake or Wales -- in my Uncle Fred's first letter home.

Reposting a postcard with a street view from Chicago in 1904, sent from my great-aunt Gerda (living there then) to her brother in Galeton, PA. Both of them had immigrated to the US from Sweden in 1902. The city life of Chicago must have been such a contrast to the Swedish countryside where they both grew up!

I have two postcards of theaters at night. After reading the messages on the back of the cards I came up with a story on star entertainers of 1914.

Gail: I loved you post, but despite signing in twice with Google, was unable to comment. Is there an easier way?
