Sepia Saturday 135 : 21 July 2012

Like a security firm preparing for the Olympic Games, I am a little slow in getting my act together this week, indeed I have to declare that my internal administrative logistics and my short-term management overview have been running below par ever since I returned from holiday. Still, I hereby promise to do better and I hope that these current problems will not interfere with the payment of my normal Sepia Saturday bonus. Having got that out of the way let me say welcome to Sepia Saturday 135 where we are away with the fairies. To be exact we are with the "Health Fairy" with this 1920 image from the Flickr collection of Cornell University Library which is catalogued as "Two views of the ''Health Fairy,'' who appeared at Ithaca High School in 1920 under the co-sponsorship of the Child Health Organization and local groups". As always you can make of it what you choose or, if you so choose, make nothing of it at all. Just post your posts (on or around Saturday 21st July), link your links, and make your visits - you know the routine by now.

For those who like a sneak preview, here are the next two Sepia Saturday archive prompts:

It looks like we have got a sporting time ahead of us. But for now let us stay with the Health Fairy as we all gather around for Sepia Saturday 135.

My week as a "fairy" was great fun.

This was a hard theme for me. I chose a postcard of Cornell University which is where this week's image is from.

We do all believe don’t we? Think of poor Tinkerbell!

Fairies are known to be crafty creatures.

Hi! I'm totally off topic, but am continuing on my kids book theme. This week I chose camping, and have lots of pictures of us doing just that in the '70's. A retro trip down memory lane for me. Can't wait to see all of your fairy and other posts!

I'll skip fairies and health and instead take school children. Another photo mystery story.

Two views of Jilo, my daughter meets some Sesame Street characters, along with a bunch of school children. No fairies involved.

Oh yes, the joys of getting back into routine! No worries though, it was easy to pull up the post with the next few themes coming up! But oh the hunt for fairies is always a tough one! They are so very clever and hardly ever are seen! Have a great weekend Alan!

I'm back and rolling with the theme, if theme is amateur theatrical troupes.

Couldn't find a Health Fairy. A Flower Queen will do.

No fairies but me!!
I am back to health and I think it shows with this [non theme] post where I take you back to 1976, in Montreal, of course!!
Anyone can guess what happened here in 1976? Come on folks!! Same thing happening in London in a few days...

No fairies for me, but wings. Two pairs of wings, and one wingless.

Woman on a throne is my theme this week. Kind of late. I like this theme.

I enjoyed this theme and it inspired much thought and many ideas. As I'm relatively new to this, I'm still surprised at both the fun of having a theme to write to and the wide variety of styles and points of view expressed on the same subject.

Just called in to check how many people had signed up to SS this week and realised I has not linked my own post. My mind is going : send for the Health Fairy.

With apologies - I made a mistake with my link - the corrected version now posted.
