Sepia Saturday 591 : 9 October 2021

Once again, it's time to call for your submissions to Sepia Saturday. All you have to do is to share an old photograph of your choice on or around Saturday 9th October 2021, and add a link to the list below. My submission this week is of an unknown lady, striding purposely into the future. Little does she realise that there is a lawn roller coming up behind her ready to flatten all her dreams! Such is life.

Memories of my grandfather's garden - the setting for many a family photograph over the years.

I start with a photo I actually took myself...and then some others of treadle sewing machines.

Initially I found this difficult with no real direction, but I ended up really enjoying the exercise. Thanks.

This theme posed a bit of a challenge but I think I found a photo postcard that will at least harmonize with it. Musical of course.

I have a solo portrait of my maternal grandfather at age 2 -- impishly looking into the future :-)

The lawn roller lead my thoughts to lawn mower - and to an old photo of me and my grandfather using one of those :)

Hi, you also know me as DawnTreader... On my 'Swenglish' blog Greetings from the Past I'm using the name Monica T. On that blog I'm primarily exploring old postcards from 1900-1929 that belonged to an older half-brother of my granmother's, and many of them written by other siblings. The main focus is on the collector of the cards, and one sister who wrote many of them. In 1902 they both emigrated to America, in 1911 they both came back to Sweden. I'm linking this week's post to Sepia Saturday with a short re-introduction added. I'm reaching the end of their America years, but am only half-way through the postcard album, and new adventures are awaiting.

I'm late - by a week and a day - but I've finally posted! Voices from the past and present
