As we move towards the Festive Season, it is time to get out the mistletoe, hang it from every doorway and encourage an epidemic of kissing. Not that these two seem to need too much encouragement : the photograph was taken in the late 1920s and has been made available from the Australian National Maritime Collection via Flickr Commons. As always, you can go where you want with this theme image, or if you prefer, you can ignore it all together. We are not asking for a passionate kiss, nor even a peck on the cheek : just an old image and some new reflections to be published on or around Saturday the 15th of December. Don't think I've seen any photo of an actual kiss in the family albums - but there are some with very deep romantic gazing into one another's eyes going on!
I'm all festive with stories of love and joy.

I wish I knew more about the kissing couple in the photo. I was surprised that I had not a single photo of people in my family kissing and very embraces. Maybe that's why I love the ending of Cinema Paradiso and 41 kisses all in a row. Another great hoto choice for inspiration!
I had one kissing photo...my parents before they were married. And it happened to be on Christmas! If my mother sees this, she'll kill me.....
