Sepia Saturday 142 : 8 September 2012

I know we have had hats before, but who says it is hats again? It might be pictures of three people, people dressed in their Sunday best, or trees growing out of heads. This 1901 picture comes from the Flickr Commons collection of the National Library of Ireland and shows Mr Thomas Murphy and his sisters of County Tipperary. It would appear that Mr Murphy was a brewery (so there is another potential theme for you) and it is likely that one of the sisters was Amy Isabel who was killed when the RMS Leinster was torpedoed in 1918 (at least another couple of dozen potential themes for you). Whatever theme you choose to highlight for Sepia Saturday 142, just post your post on or around Saturday the 8th September 2012 and link it to the list below.

Here is the usual preview of the next two Sepia Saturday archive pictures in order to get your creative juices brewing.

Whatever theme you go with or whatever theme you ignore, just hang your hat at the sign of Sepia Saturday 142 and you are right at home.

  1. Sorry I have been rushed off my feet this last few days. I will get around to amending the side-bar listing before Friday but I regret to say that I might not get chance to visit all of last week's posts. I will start afresh this week and resolve to be a better person.

  3. Hi Alan,
I hope you've been having a good time away from the computer. Speaking of that, when you update the sidebar, you don't need to put mine on the list. I am going to leave my blog up, but plan to stop posting in the next few weeks.

  12. My photo post is on the general theme of women, some with hats, and a few men thrown in for looks, but as usual more musicians than you can shake a stick at.

  18. I do so enjoy the new bloggers who find us! And of course the crew of "regulars" too, I must say. I'm in with a dandy fellow who does in fact have a hat.

  19. A short post, one might say, considering what I usually do, and on theme, sort of, as usual... No family pictures here, but something with a distinctive Montreal flavor!!
    Brace yourselves!!
    (you'll soon understand why...)
