Sepia Saturday 647 : 12 November 2022

I'm not sure what my father was up to when he took the photograph which is this week's Sepia Saturday theme image. Throughout his life he was fond of motorbikes, so perhaps he was anxious to get the full curve of the front mudguard in the photograph. It matters not that my poor mother - not to mention the mill chimney behind her - were tilted at an angle of about 15 degrees! You can interpret this theme image in any way you want to - whatever interpretation you give, give it on or around Saturday 12th November 2022 and link your post to the list below. And if you tilt your head downwards, you may well get an advanced look at the next two theme images.

  1. I had difficulties finding a photo matching the prompt this week, as I couldn't find a single motorbike, bus stop or mill chimney in my grandparents' albums. Nor any really crooked photos! A railway station will have to do - as the railway was their preferred means of transport :) Continuing my series of letters written in 1925.

  2. Another collection of old photos thanks to the internet. Gail of La Nightengail, your link didn't work, and when I tried an older link to let you know, the whole program was down. So sorry. Hope it's fixed soon!

  3. I had a photo of my uncle Hugh with my mother and her sister posing at a bus stop. I managed to tie it into a post I was working on about my uncles farming as conscientious objectors during WW2.

  4. I don't have a match for this theme so I've chosen to go with the date, 11 November. Non-musical for a change.

  5. Well . . . I found some great photos to match the prompt, but unfortunately soon after I posted them, the blogging site I've been working with for over 12 years decided to "integrate" with another site and suddenly, my "page" was no longer accessible. I'm not at all happy about it and I intend to do something about it, but at the moment I'm a bit lost. I think I have to get my daughter to help me and hopefully I'll have a post up next week? We'll see . . . In the meantime, at least I can still see everyone else's! :)

  6. Oh dear Gail...I thought that might have been the case. WordPress and Blogger are the only programs I know of at this time doing blogs.
