Cut the cake, fill the cups with tea from the urn, put on your paper hat, and smile, smile, smile. Yes, it is the Jubilee weekend here in the UK and we are celebrating it with a right royal Sepia Saturday prompt image. As with all our Sepia Saturday themes, however, it is open to interpretation, so whether you are a royalist or republican, whether you are in Bognar Regis or Botswana, you are invited to submit your old images to Sepia Saturday by adding a link to the list below, on or around Saturday 4th June 2022. And whilst you wait for your sausage roll to cool down and your glass of flat beer to warm up, you can amuse yourself by looking at the next two Sepia Saturday theme images.
In honour of the Jubilee weekend, I'm quite excited to be able to present postcards from the crowning of Queen Elizabeth's father, George VI, in 1937. (As usual, thanks to my travelling great-aunt Gerda!)
ReplyDeleteSince I featured her majesty's trumpeter a few weeks ago, this weekend I'll pick up on the idea of parades and crowds of people.
ReplyDeleteAn art show which is being held again after 2 years, and of course some coronation photos for the 70th Jubilee celebration.
ReplyDeleteGood prompt this week. I've shared some children's art of the queen from her 85th birthday.
