SEPIA SATURDAY 403 : 27 January 2018
ROOMS : FURNITURE : BOUDOIRS : INTERIORS : COVERS
This is the last of our current round of prompt images from the collection of the National Library of Ireland and it features a late Victorian photograph of the boudoir of the Vice-Regal Lodge in Dublin. So it is time to look out all your boudoir photographs and share them with the rest of the Sepia Saturday community. Simply post your post on or around Saturday 27th January 2018 and add a link to the list below.
In February we are moving onto theme images from the State Library of Queensland and, in order that you can get some preparation in, here are the first two. The full list and potential themes can be found by visiting HERE.
I'm in ! But please excuse the Industrial Language!
ReplyDeleteI have hundreds of photos in my collection, but very few of internal spaces that are not focused on clusters of people around a dinner table or people talking in groups. Very few of these photos expose the interior design styles or quirks of the era. I haven't taken any of my own homes will our descendants think we live in homes like those that are shown in the magazines?
ReplyDeleteMost of the photos in my collection are taken in a photographer's studio or outdoors. But I have one that was made in a family's parlor. Musical of course.
ReplyDeleteBoudoirs, parlors, sitting rooms, whatever . . .
ReplyDeleteSince I already posted my Uncle John's apartment here, this week I am again discussing my Union Army ancestor's time in the GAR.
ReplyDeleteI have postcards advertising furniture.
ReplyDeleteSleeping areas, not always inside...but beautiful, comfortable, and probably dream-enhancing.
ReplyDeleteFocus on slipcovers
ReplyDeleteBringing back a post from 2012 with a clock built by prison labor in Burma and how it came to be in my family.
