Sepia Saturday 210 : 11 January 2014

I have a feeling it was Marilyn who suggested this as a theme : whoever it was, it is a great sepia theme because it incorporates books and old photographs. Many of us will have experienced the joy of discovering a precious old photograph tucked away within the pages of a dusty old volume. Now is your opportunity to share such discoveries, or, if you prefer, share your photographic discoveries whether they were found in a bound volume of Shakespeare or in an old shoebox. You know what to do, simply post a post on or around Saturday 11 January incorporating an old photograph, link it to the list below, and then flip through the sepia pages to view other people's discoveries.

I seem to be doing quite a good job in terms of getting ahead of myself this year, so here for your edification are the next THREE Sepia Saturday theme images.

211 : A soldier from the Great War - 100 years after the event.

212 : Let it snow and get out those skis.

213 : Suitcases, bags, trunks and portmanteaus

Those are for the future. For Sepia Saturday 210, start searching through your books, your boxes and your cupboards for some photographic discoveries.

  1. First again, only because I'm off to the beach for a summer holiday and don't know that I'll be able to post from up there. I hope our US Sepians are surviving the big freeze!

  3. I apologize for not blogging about this weeks theme picture. But as Alan always says, the rule here is that there are no rules. So I feel free to write a post in honour of Auntie Miriam because this Saturday is Auntie Miriam Saturday.

Here in Holland temperatures today reached 11 degrees Celsius. Above zero that is. I would hope that these weather circumstances soon reach the US East coast as well!

  4. Great picture, great theme! I love finding stuff in books -- and I leave a fair amount of ephemera in my own books... fodder for some future Sepian.

  16. It's been so long since I've posted on Sepia Saturday. I took a little vacation. But I missed it and now hopefully I'll keep posting. This week I've posted about other things than photos found in the books in my library.
