Let's have a song for a change. Over here in Britain we are having an extra long public holiday to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and there will be street parties, parades and jollification of all types. Who knows, I might have a drink or two and get a little merry and emotional. I might even break into song, and if I do that better song to sing that that old Sophie Tucker number "I Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" (I have drawn a polite veil over its alternative title). The image comes from the collection of the State Library of Queensland, Australia on Flickr Commons and features a rather splendid photograph of Miss Sophie Tucker herself. There are all sorts of places you can go with this archive image, all sorts of themes you could follow. I will leave it all to your collective imaginations. Simply post your posts on or around Saturday 2 June and link them to the Linky-List below. And don't forget, you don't have to follow a theme - you can whistle your own tune if you prefer.

I love this week's picture! But, I did something completely different this week. My post is very long so I am posting it early ... it is the account of coming over the plains in a covered wagon by a woman who did that very thing it when she was 10.

Okay, this one is just pictures ... the sister post to last week's Reno postcards, it is the postcard packet of Salt Lake City photos from the 1940's.

ReplyDeleteI missed posting and reading everyone's take on the weekly theme, good to be back. Love Sophie Tucker, actually read her memoir. Tucker had a long career, starting in Vaudeville.
