After a whole host of leisure related themes - going out, games, books. and the theatre - it is time for a bit of work; after all isn't life a tapestry made up of work, rest and play? So our theme this week is work : work in all its' manifestations; hard work, long work, dirty work, great work, important work, any work. So you can start going through your collections of old photographs to see what you can come up with and work towards a post that will be published on or around Saturday 31 March 2012. As always, post your post, link it to the list below and get around and visit as many other sepia bloggers as possible. Get working!
Woops, forgot to give the details about the image. As usual it is from Flickr Commons and the details are as follows:

Answering the nation's need for womanpower, Mrs. Virginia Davis made arrangement for the care of her two children during the day and joined her husband at work in the Naval Air Base, Corpus Christi, Texas. Both are employed under Civil Service in the Assembly and repair department. Mrs. Davis' training will enable her to take the place of her husband should he be called by the armed service

It's been a long time since I have participated in SepiaSaturday, glad to be back. I will be eagerly awaiting the other entries.
ReplyDeleteSome dramatic shots of 'unwanted' work. War work of a different kind.
ReplyDeleteI'm "going bananas" this week.
ReplyDeleteHi Everybody,
ReplyDeleteI'm on theme this week with a bunch of family members and friends at work in one manner or another.
I may not get around to visiting everybody this weekend, because we are going to be gone, put I will try hard to catch up later
Take care,
Kathy M.
My first link is wrong. My second link is correct.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to comment on the Wordpress blogs. I just can't seem to do it. Do I have to register with Wordpress in order to comment? Help. I hate not being able to comment to you wordpress bloggers.
ReplyDeleteNancy Javier
My post this week is about my working dad, and not just at the office.
Postcardy : I have got rid of that first link for you.
ReplyDeleteI Am early this week. My father always told me I should be early for work.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I'd need to use these pictures! :-)
ReplyDeleteThere’s a lesson for us all in my post this week!
ReplyDeleteAn inspirational photo. I'm looking forward to checking out all the posts this week. Mine is about a German house maid.
ReplyDeleteI had to work hard to get this week's post out. Nice theme Alan.
ReplyDeleteI have posted my family at work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Alan.
When I hear the word "work" I can't help but think of Maynard G. Krebs from the Dobie Gillis Show and his high pitched squawk of the word "WORK!" every time it was mentioned. I don't imagine he'd relish doing the work I show in my photos.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Barbara and Nancy, commenting at Word Press can be difficult. They are demanding and unforgiving. I do have an account with them I never use, but now must access in order to leave comments. Even then at times nothing will go through.
When I click on Christine, Blogger says her blog has been removed. I went to last week's theme and tried clicking from there and I got the same message. I hope this is a temporary glitch.
ReplyDeleteDitto on Maynard Krebs and "WORK" But I'm up with a rerun photo and some new information...ahhhhh that work seems something long ago and far away---for that I am thankful...but where has the week gone?
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this week's work theme, I immediately thought of two songs from Disney's Snow White movie, "Whistle While You Work" & "Heigh Ho Heigh Ho, If's Off To Work We Go."
ReplyDeleteThese times demand the Times. Always.
ReplyDeleteAnother fine choice, Alan. I offer workers at play - in a company band.
ReplyDeleteI offer myself sewing.
ReplyDeleteAn odd post for me this week, totally based on web research, but still about my mom, at work,somehow... and the memories I've kept from those times. It's sketchy at best, but that's what I could come up with.
ReplyDelete:)~
HUGZ
I've gone for shopkeeping this week :o)
ReplyDeleteIf I were just a little more agile, I would have jumped up and down upon learning this week's theme. This time I have some really good ones! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI've gone with landgirls this week- I hope you all like!
ReplyDeleteFor me this week, it was their work but also a work out.
ReplyDeleteI am a bit late this week, and I'm a bit late because of work !!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Dakotaboo - late due to WORK. But better late than never :-) My Auntie Jan was never late - you can tell why from my post! :-) Jo
