Sepia Saturday Week 50


As most of you will know, I love old postcards and I, along with many other people, have used vintage postcards as the starting point for many a Sepia Saturday contribution. As a postcard lover, I have long been a fan of Christine H's wonderful "Daily Postcard" Blog, and I was really pleased when she became a Sepia Saturday poster some time ago. And, of course, I was thrilled to discover that her Sepia Saturday post last week featured a postcard which almost seemed to have been addressed to my dog Amy! On behalf of Amy, I thank her for the postcard, and on behalf of Sepia Saturday I thank her and all the other participants for keeping Sepia Saturday going for 50 weeks.

Everyone is invited to take part in Sepia Saturday 50. You don't necessarily need to feature a postcard nor to find one addressed to my dog. Whatever the image may be, just post it and link it on or around Saturday 20th November 2010.

    How very fitting that we should crack 100 followers on the occasion of our 50th Sepia Saturday!
    I've been focussing greatly on my poetry lately and haven't been able to devote the time I'd like to SS (added to the fact, my photos were packed away and are in storage, so I'm limited as to selection).
    I do hope to participate this week and will be back later to provide the link.

    Congratulations to all of us on 50 Fabulous Sepia Saturdays under our belts! Long may we continue this exploration of families, old, new and even unknown.

    My Sepia Saturday post is about coalminers today.. in our thoughts are the 27 miners trapped after an explosion in a West Coast mine last night.

    My post this week is of a lovely young girl taken at Baker's Art Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. I have no information about her, but was able to find some historical information about who took the photo.

    I have been away for many weeks due to lack of net access. It's nice to be back. Especially nice to return on its 50th anniversary.

    Oh I didn't know about the new episode of trapped mines. May God be with them and their families. Glad you are back Alan. I have posted a big chunk of my heart tonight with a picture of one of my lovely favorite uncles. One of my mom's brothers. Happy 50th SS.
