This lovely photograph of Great Grandfather Ashby with Audrey Bull was submitted to Sepia Saturday 39 by Frogmum. It went up rather late (or it might have been an early submission for SS40) so many of you might have missed it : if so you can have a closer look at it by following the link to Frogmum's flickr page. The old photograph has had some re-editing and retouching and, despite its age, it has a delightfully fresh feel about it. I, for one, look forward to seeing more of Frogmum's Sepia Saturday contributions.
On Flickr, on Blogger, on Wordpress or wherever, it matters not. Keep those Sepia Saturday contribution coming in. Sepia Saturday 40 will take place on or around Saturday 11th September 2010. Just post a post and link a link.
Having been a bit late for previous week's Sepia Saturdays, I'm making up for it this week with an early posting. Picked up these cards at a postcard fair recently and knew just the place to share them. Hope you all like them.
ReplyDeleteMine is up early : my apologies. As I mentioned last week, we have visitors at the moment and a busy weekend ahead. So even more apologies if I don't manage to get to visit the other participants until after the weekend.
ReplyDeleteMine is out 'there' too.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be busy tomorrow so I'm in early, featuring a dress with miles of hand made trim on it! Can't wait to see all the entries!

ReplyDeleteI missed a couple of weeks, so I'm glad to be back in this week.
ReplyDeleteBack to the sepia after a week of color!
ReplyDeleteI took the easy way out tonight. But we all like variety. That is a very sharp picture above.

P.S.
ReplyDeleteJust a note to say that I have loved Frogmum's posts. I can't quite do the Flickr comments, but I was sorry not to leave any feedback, because they are so phenomenal.
I'M BACK!!
ReplyDeletei had to vacate my apartment for a while for some renos, and i'm now going crazy changing everything... looks like i've been missing some interesting stuff. i'll be busy this weekend, so i won't be visiting your blogs on sunday, as i usually do, since i'll be involved in another project, my "12 of 12", and ALAN knows what i mean for having seen it before. but i promise, i will check up on everyone next week. don't know if i'll have time to catch up on the past few weeks, but i will certainly look at your latest entry. have a great weekend folks!!

Thanks for posting that, Alan. I didn't see it earlier. It's quite a tender shot.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very precious picture.
ReplyDeleteI am a bit late, my family kept me guessing.
Enjoy!
I have a noisy one for you this week! LOL :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't connect with Cindy -- the link didn't work. Sorry Cindy!
ReplyDeleteA middle-class American couple in the early 60s. That's about as much as I can tell other than his name is Charles. For many of a certain age, Charles will bring a smile as they try to imagine their dad dressed like this and why.
ReplyDeleteLawrence Scott Hewitt c.1875, my oldest photo. Hope you like it!

MY gosh, I completed my post and then forgot to get into the line of Seipa Saturday's friends. So it looks like I posted late when I really did post on Friday. Late absent minded poster disease.
ReplyDeleteSorry for posting late - again. I wasn't home yesterday hardly at all. It's been a crazy weekend!! Will blog-hop later tomorrow and catch up with you all :)
ReplyDeletePS ~ VERY honoured to have been the 'feature' post this week ~ THANKYOU!! :D
