Sepia Saturday poster Leena said last week that she might be seen as a "peculiar bird" coming, as she does, from far away in Finland near the Russian border. Exotic, yes, peculiar, never : I reply on behalf of all other Sepia posters. If you have not looked at Leena's Blog (Joensuudailyphoto) do so : there are some wonderful pictures and delightful descriptions. But the thing you will notice most of all, is that if you go back a generation or two, people always look the same whether they are in Europe or America, Cleveland Ohio or Cleckheaton Yorkshire. Sepia really is a great leveler.
It is time to start leveling again and Sepia Saturday 30 will take place on Saturday July 3rd. If you are taking part add your name to the Linky List below : either a generic link to your Blog if you join before the post is up or a specific link to the post after the event. Exotic birds from all over the world are welcome.
This particular old crow from just up the road from Cleckheaton will be playing, but, as yet, I have to decide with what.
ReplyDeleteI might just watch this week.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking my post into your kind writing.
ReplyDeleteGustav Adolf certainly could never have guessed that he will some day be travelling in the bit universe.
Good weekend and plenty of interesting posts to see !
Hey, I'm out this week. The daughter's coming in from NY tomorrow, so I'm going to be busy doing all kinds of fun girl stuff. But I'll be back. I've got tons more sepias to post, so stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteGreat observation about the leveling effect once we look at each other....well I rummaged and found some 4th photos for this weekend...
ReplyDeleteI apologize, but I won't be able to participate this week; we have a cat who is recovering from an ordeal of dental surgery today and my mind is preoccupied with her. I hope to be back next week.

ReplyDeleteJust posted my SS. 13 hours late! Have a nice weekend everyone.
ReplyDeleteThis weeks post is actually one I did earlier in the week when a reader asked me about scanning old negatives and slides. I've written a piece specifically from my perspective with what I use for both professional reasons and for fun. Maybe there are some people wondering what to do with all the old negs and slides that have been passed down to them. You might find this helpful, then again...maybe not so much. It's all perspective.
ReplyDeleteWierd that I left my comment and yet didn't log onto the list, maybe I didn't hit enter oh wellll
ReplyDeleteMy sepia picture this week isn't from the family archives. I found it in an old box I bought from a bric-a-brac stall, and I haven't a clue as to who they are!
ReplyDeleteNo idea here, either...
