Our Sepia Saturday prompt this week features a happy family group heading off somewhere with smiles on their faces and carrying suitcases. Given that the photograph dates from 1940 and the man in the photograph is in uniform, one can rightly be anxious that the smiles and the happiness are misplaced. Let us hope not, and let us try to celebrate happy family occasions and journeys here on Sepia Saturday by sharing old photographs on or around Saturday 14th March 2026.
