Sepia Saturday 275 : 18 April 2015

For Sepia Saturday 275 our tour of the photographic archives participating in the Flickr Commons project reaches the Tasmanian Archives and Heritage Office and, in particular, this image entitled "Hydro Electric Commission (H.E.C.) linemen maintaining electrical services, corner Bathurst and Barrack Streets (c1969)". The theme image might bring all sorts of things to mind - wires, cables, ladders, sky - or you might just want to post an image with a long and complicated title. Whatever you decide to post, post it on or around Saturday 18 April 2015 and leave a link on the list below.

I am following the wires south to where the sky is blue and I will be away for a couple of weeks. I have scheduled the next couple of calls and hopefully they will appear on time (unlike most of my manual calls). If there is a problem Marilyn will, I am sure, intervene. If all else fails you can always give me a ring, but don't be surprised if the lines are all down.

Looking out of the window and the sun is shining and Spring is in the air. The prospect for the coming months is warm summer sun, blue skies and Factor 98 Sun-screen. It is therefore a timely reminder from your Sepia Saturday host that you should be thinking of ordering your winter coal now. Our theme image for Sepia Saturday 274 - post your posts on or around Saturday 11 April 2015 - comes from the Library Company of Philadelphia (via the ever-faithful Flickr Commons) and shows a World War 1 era poster for the United States Fuel Administration. If you are a theme then you can think about horses, carts, coal, fuel, fires or posters. If you are a dreamer you can think about toasted bread around an open fire. Just make sure that amidst all that thinking you post your post and then link it to the list below.
