Sepia Saturday 443 : 3 November 2018

Photographs can tell us so much. They can speak volumes about style, manners, and social conditions. They can also let us know that the young woman featured in this week's Sepia Saturday theme image can't be a very good piano player. She looks happy enough, but just look at the bear - have you ever seen such a miserable looking stuffed ursidae? As a Sepia Saturday prompt, the picture is capable of as many interpretations as a theme by Paganini. There is music of course, smiling faces, sad faces, bears and spotted blouses. The choice is yours. Simply post your post on or around Saturday 3 November and add a link to the list below.

And whilst you are whistling along to the tune of the Teddy Bears Picnic, you might want to think about what is waiting around the Sepia corner. Here are our next two theme images.

Sepia Saturday 442 : Saturday 27 October 2018

Perhaps we ought to introduce advertising to Sepia Saturday as a way of earning a little spending money on the side. And once I had earned it, I could spend it on coffee or custard or chocolate or a nice pork sausage. Our theme image for this week asks you to seek out any adverts in your collection - either up front or in the background - and feature them in your post on or around Saturday 27th October 2018.  Whilst you are chewing that over, take a look at what lies ahead.

Sepia Saturday 441 : Saturday 20th October 2018

Our Sepia Saturday theme image this week is all over the place. Well, to be quite honest, it is falling down. So if you have any old photographs in your collection that are falling down or leaning over, this is the prompt for you. Just post your post on or around Saturday 20th October 2018 and leave a link on the list below. Whilst you are waiting for the washing to dry - or for the building to fall down - take a look at what awaits you around the crooked bend.

Sepia Saturday 440 : 13 October 2018

I am back on-line this week and sketching out a vision of rural bliss. So get onto the back of your horse, pack up your easel and paint brushes, unpack your large hats, and let us head for the fields. Our theme image this week dates back over 140 years and is from the collection of the National Library of Australia. All you need to do is to look for a potential theme, match it with an old photograph of your own, and add a link to the list below. Post your post on or around Saturday 13th October 2018.

Whilst you are sketching in the background to your post, here is what is waiting in the weeks ahead.
